Hello everyone. This is just a quick update and last update until the new year.
Today has being a day of two halves, i have finally been signed off from the crisis team. they are very happy with my progress and I start my long term therapy on the 27th December.
I feel very lucky where I live as I have to say the care and treatment I have received from the crisis team and my own GP has being spot on. I know this is not the case everywhere hopefully we can change that.
This afternoon i saw through FB that another Paramedic has taken his life. My thoughts are with his family and friends at this very difficult time.
The above news just drives me on to raise awareness for PTSD, I know I am only one person, but if we can help at least one person reach out and ask for help then we have achieved what I set out to achieve.
Christmas can be very difficult time for people with PTSD as they see everyone enjoying themselves and the pressure on them to try and fit in can be too much. Please watch for people close to you, who may struggle at this time of year.
Going forward I have to say the training is going really well, better than expected to be honest. Next big job is to plan each leg in detail. tide times, tide direction at different states of the tide. bearings to waypoints within each leg. So I still have a lot of work to do.
So that’s it for 2016 from me. I have to admit I will be glad when it’s over. It looks like 2017 is going to start well with a new chapter in my life.
So I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy new year.
BUT PLEASE BARE A THOUGHT FOR THE PEOPLE STILL SUFFERING IN SILENCE.
